Who doesn’t love a special treat in a fun package? This printable pattern is something I came up with for gifting small treasures and treats in designer style! It’s easy to print, cut and create with this downloadable file that you can use again and again with your favorite patterned or solid cardstock.

Directions:

1. Save the file to your computer.

2. Open the file and print the pattern on the WRONG side of paper (it might be wise to do a test run on plain paper first in case you need to alter your print settings).

3. Follow the directions on the printed page to craft the box.

TIP: Rub wax paper on your paper to make it easier to score; place the printed page on a magazine and score (or make an impression on the scoring lines) with an embossing stylus or tip of a bone folder.

4. Fold the box on the scored lines and secure with glue.

5. Embellish, enclose treats and deliver your hand crafted package gift-ee!

Print Free File: Happy Saint Patty’s Patch Pin Pattern

Although I enjoy Saint Patrick’s Day and all the excuses to utilize the color green, I must admit that specific color is lacking in the wardrobe of the kiddos. So, in hope to avoid the pinch, I formulated these super easy patch pins.

How to Make:

1. Using the free pattern, cut out each piece in the materials specified. For added texture, I cut my felt circles with pinking shears.

2. Sew the shamrock it to felt circle #1, sticking close to the edge.

3. Iron the fusible webbing onto felt circle #2.

4. Sew circle #1 to circle #2, sticking close to the edge, and with the shamrock facing out.

5. Now attach the safety pin. Cut a 1″ x .5″ strip of wool felt, using the same color as the circles.

6. Lay a safety pin on the back of the felt circle, slip the felt strip through the safety pin, and hot glue in place.

Ta-da! All done. You could even attach this to a little girls headband. Super simple and takes about 15 minutes. Happy Saint Patty’s Day!

Did you know Twin Facts Trivia

1. 18% to 22% of twins are left-handed compared with under 10% for non-twins.

2. The incidence of fraternal twins varies by race:
* Of African descent: 1 birth per 70
* Of Caucasian descent: 1 birth per 88
* Of Japanese descent: 1 birth per 150
* Of Chinese descent: 1 birth per 300

3. Genetic factors do not appear to have much affect upon the incidence of identical twins.

4. Identical twins exhibit almost identical brain wave patterns.

5. William Shakespeare was the father of boy/girl twins Hamnet and Judith. He also wrote about twins in The Comedy of Errors and The Twelfth Night.

6. The term “twins” derives from the ancient German word twin or twine meaning “two together.”

7. Twinning does run in families, but supposedly only fraternal twins and not identical twins. Yet there are many, many families with identical twins in each generation, and sometimes even several sets of identical twin children, so this ostensible scientific “fact” doesn’t seem to be supported by the evidence. There is little evidence to support the popular notion that twins “skip” a generation.

8. If the mother is herself a fraternal twin, the chances of having twins
increases about five-fold.

9. The modern world record for giving birth to multiples is held by Leontina Albina from Chile, whose 55 children included three sets of triplets. The all-time historical record is claimed by a Russian who is purported to have given birth to 6 pairs of twins, 6 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quads. (If true, it means her 46 children included no singletons at all!)

10. The scientific study of twins is known as “gemellology.”

11. Twins have been known to develop their own “language” that only they understand. This process is known as “cryptophasia.”

Baby Shower Bag Game Instructions: Use lunch bags to spell out Baby Shower and put something for the baby that corresponds with the letter in each bag.

Use a white or brown lunch bag and spell out: B A B Y S H O W E R. (Use the downlodable file above to print out the letters.)

In each bag put something for the baby that corresponds with the letter. For example B has binki, A has applesauce, etc. Attendees guess what is in each bag. The person with the most correct guesses wins. The best part, the mother-to-be receives all of these items as a great gift.
